Dana studied music education at Illinois State University and received her BA in Performing Arts Management from Columbia College in Chicago. In addition, she received her BM in Music Education in 2013 and also holds a K-12 Teaching License with a Music Content Endorsement. Dana did her student teaching at John Shields Elementary School in Sugar Grove where she worked with 6th - 8th grade string orchestras and taught small group lessons on violin, viola, and bass. She has also done clinical teaching for string orchestra at Yorkville High School, Haines Middle School, Huntley Middle School, and the Garage Orchestra Summer Program.


Dana also teaches beginning cello lessons.

Violin & Viola

Violinist and music educator, Joanna  is dedicated to helping students develop and refine their music. She graduated from Northern Illinois University with a bachelor’s degree in violin performance. Joanna has been teaching violin and viola actively since 2011. She is a certified Suzuki teacher who incorporates both traditional and Suzuki methods into her curriculum. Joanna is currently on faculty at the Sforzando String Camp in Downers Grove, Illinois and has also taught at MusiCamp, a pilot program for Rockford Public Schools hosted in partnership with the Rockford Symphony Orchestra and the Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center. She also has an active freelance performance career.  She has performed as a guest soloist with several orchestras and frequently gives solo and chamber recitals. 

Joanna also teaches beginning cello lessons.


Beginning Violin & Viola


Naomi has recently joined MECA as a beginning violin teacher.  She attends a local High School and has been involved in music for years. Naomi took and continues to take violin lessons with a senior violin teacher a MECA.

Kerena Moeller is currently third chair with the Elgin Symphony Orchestra, and section cellist with the Rockford Symphony and Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra. Kerena joined the faculty of the Music Academy in Rockford and Elgin Community College in 2009. She is a certified Suzuki instructor.


A British-born cellist, Kerena is an active member of the Moeller Cello and Guitar Duo with guitarist Paul Moeller. Together, they concertize throughout the United States, England and Italy.


She has performed with many orchestras including Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, Annapolis Symphony Orchestra (as principal), Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra and was the assistant principal cellist in the Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra. Kerena joined the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra for tours of Europe and Japan.


Kerena received her Bachelor’s Degree in Music from the Royal Northern College of Music and a Master’s Degree in Music Performance from Eastman School of Music. Kerena also received an Associate of the Royal College of Music in London England for post- graduate solo studies and a Graduate Performance Diploma from Peabody Conservatory of Music.


Violin & Viola

Claire recently received her master’s degree at DePaul University in Viola Performance.  She was involved in DePaul’s Concerto Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra, and 20+esemble.  She received her Bachelors in Viola Performance from Northern Illinois University in 2019 cum laude. Claire is an avid Chamber music player and has attended summer festivals such as Credo Music Festival and Wintergreen Performing Arts Festival as well at both DePaul and NIU. At NIU Claire was involved in the Philharmonic Orchestra and the Illinois Valley Symphony Orchestra, both where she resided as Principal for 2+ years. While a part of NIU’s philharmonic, she soloed Cecil Forsyth’s Viola Concerto in 2018 as winner of NIU’s concerto competition. Claire teaches Violin, Viola and Piano. She received her “Every Child Can” and Book One Suzuki violin training at NIU. She also grew up in the Suzuki CSA at Wheaton College where. Claire has previously taught with the NIU CSA.
