This month at MECA
What does it mean if. . .
I see my teachers name on the calendar?
Teacher’s names appearing on the calendar indicate a teacher absence. If you click on the teacher’s name, you will be able to see the following information: Date(s) of the teacher’s absence(s), if there is a substitute scheduled for you teacher, and if the absence is all day or just part of the day. Teacher absences will be for the duration of their scheduled lessons unless otherwise noted. If your teacher is absent and there is no substitute available you will NOT have a lesson that day. You will also not be charged for this lesson. If a substitute is available for your lesson, then you WILL have your regularly scheduled lesson. NO CREDITS will be given for a student absence due to a substitute teacher.
I see the words “STORE CLOSED” on the calendar?
Any dates that have “store closed” noted on them mean the store will be closed that date. If your private lesson falls on the date(s) listed as “store closed” you will NOT have a lesson that day and your account has already been pro-rated for that store closing. If your group lesson falls on the date(s) listed as “store closed” MECA has either already planned for this in the initial scheduling of the class or will add a lesson to the end of the class schedule.
I see the words “NO LESSONS” on the calendar?
Any dates that have “no lessons” noted on them mean that there would be no private or group lessons that day. However, the store will be open for the regular scheduled business hours. Depending on the reason for lessons not being scheduled or in some cases cancelled, a credit might be placed on your account. Again, this will be determined based upon the reason for not having lessons. There are some weeks MECA does not teach but no credits are given. These weeks have already been factored into your monthly tuition rate. For more information on which weeks and or days this will occur click here.
I see the word “RECITAL” on the calendar?
Any dates that have the word “recital” noted on them means that there is a recital that day. If you click on the recital date you will be able to view the following information: Time of the recital, what students are performing at the recital (ie private lesson students, group lesson students or MECA Creates students) and the address of the recital location. Most times you will also be able to view a map of the location and get directions.
I see the words “Special Event” on the calendar?
Any dates that have “special event” noted on them are dates MECA is sponsoring the World’s Fastest Drummer (WFD) contest, MECA Creates is performing or any such like event. By clicking on that date you will be able to view the following information. Date and times of the event, even location, what MECA will be doing at the event and when available the address and map to the location. Because the WFD is usually held at summer festivals we are not always able to provide you with an exact address.
