Laura Hinkle

Violin, Viola

Laura has played violin for 37 years (viola and cello—7 years).

She holds a Bachelor degree in Music Education from Northern Illinois University and is certified to teach K-12 music.

Laura has taught private lessons part-time beginning in high school. She also participated in Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra for 6 years beginning in middle school. More recently, Laura has spent 6 years teaching string programs for grades 4-12. She also is an active member of the Hosanna! Lutheran Church music ministry.

Mike Orlando

Violin, Viola

Mike has played violin and viola for 13 years and has taught for 5 years.

He attended Elgin Community College where he was a member of the

Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra

and his quest is to complete his education in the Arts at Columbia.

Mike enjoys creating new types of music, reading and poetry.

Betsy Danner

Violin - Viola (also Trombone, French Horn, Trumpet, Baritone/Tuba - Beginning Piano & Voice)

Betsy received a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Benedictine College in Atchison, KS.

In addition to strings, Betsy can also teach beginning piano and offers lessons on french horn, trombone, trumpet, baritone, and tuba.

She has a variety of performance experiences, including solo work, concert bands, orchestras, chamber choirs, liturgical music, and jazz.

She believes in making each of her students a well-rounded, capable musician and emphasizes sight-reading, theory, technique, musicality, and practice habits.
