Private lessons are the most customized learning environment for any student.  With one half hour lesson each week, students will work, one on one, with their teacher to meet whatever musical goals they might have.  No matter if it’s becoming the next rock star, the next Mozart, or just to learn something new, private lessons are a great way to have your musical instruction customized to you as an individual.........and with private lessons being offered 6 days a week, finding a time and day that works best for you is easy.

MECA offers a wide variety of teachers for you to choose from. The teachers at MECA can be high school students, college students, teachers who have obtained their degrees (bachelors or masters) or working professionals. Tuition rates for each teacher are based on that teachers specific qualifications and experience in both music and in teaching.  Below is a break down of our monthly tuition rates for private lesson instructors and the qualifications those teachers are expected to have.  All monthly tuition rates are based on one half hour lesson each week for the entire month. 

$75.00 – Teachers at this rate are typically high school students who have played their instrument for a minimum of 5 years and are continuing to study privately themselves.  This teacher is great for the beginning student who has little to no experience and wants to start learning a musical instrument.

$88.00 – Teachers at this rate are typically college students who attend local community colleges or travel in from surrounding universities. This teacher has had previous teaching experience and is more established as a performer on their instrument.  Beginning through intermediate students are best suited for this teacher.

$98.00 – Teachers at this rate have typically graduated college (bachelor’s degree) or are working professionals on their instrument. This teacher has done a significant amount of teaching and performing.  A teacher at this price range makes a living working in the music field as a band director, instrument specialist, performing artist, private lesson instructor, etc.  Beginning through advanced students alike can benefit from this teachers knowledge and experience.

$108.00 – Teachers at this rate have typically graduated college (master’s degree) or are well experienced working professionals on their instrument.  These teachers have well established success as performers and or educators.  These teachers also make their living working in the music field as band directors, instrument specialists, performing artists, private lesson instructors, etc.  All students regardless of ability have lots to learn from these teachers.  This teacher will have the most to offer a student based on their knowledge and experience.

If a student has taken lesson prior to enrollment at MECA, please have them bring the materials and books they had been working out of.  If the student is new to the instrument, his/her teacher will recommend books that are appropriate for the student.  Such books will need to be purchased at the first lesson.  For all guitar students, guitars may be rented/purchased before their first lesson.
