Located in South Elgin and Huntley, Illinois, Music Education Centers of America offers both private lessons and group lessons for all ages. Whether you’re older, younger, or young at heart, MECA has something for everyone. Even you!

Currently, private lessons are taught only in our South Elgin location and present the most customized learning environment for any student.  We are planning private lessons for our Huntley location in the future as well as continuing our "Fun After 50" program. 

With one half hour private lesson each week, students will work, one on one, with their teacher to meet whatever musical goals they might have.  No matter if it’s becoming the next rock star, the next Mozart, or just to learn something new,  private lessons are a great way to have your musical instruction customized to you as an individual.......... and with private lessons being offered 6 days a week, finding a time and day that works best for you is easy.

While private lessons typically start at age six, MECA offers group lessons in South Elgin for kids six and under. These group lessons help kids begin to learn music through color, shape, pictures and other fun and creative teaching methods. Older than six and still want to take lessons in a group setting? No problem. MECA also offers a variety of group lessons for beginning students over the age of six. Instruments for these lessons can include, but are not limited to, guitar, piano, and vocal. Group lessons can be a great way for the beginning student to get started and make new friends while learning a musical instrument.

The best part about learning any instrument, either in private lessons or group lessons, is that you are never too old to start.  MECA teaches students from as young as age two to as experienced as age 100.  Learning to play, regardless of age, has never been easier with our Fun Over 50 program offered in our Huntley location. After all, why let the grandkids have all the fun?

MECA is a full service music store offering print music, accessories, guitars and musical gifts, in addition we rent all band and orchestra instruments as an affiliate of Quinlan & Fabish and are an authorized Lowrey Organ dealer, offering the Lowrey home organ line (spotlighted in our Huntley location).
